Since the start of the War on Terror there have been over 3000 deaths. That total is concentrated to one city and it isn't Baghdad. It's New York! Most of these deaths have been civilians. Over three quarters of the deaths have been considered "senseless" and in "vain." Too many have been on the innocents, including wives, former girlfriends, and children. We may not call that a war on terror, but the perpetrator's of these crimes sure walk and talk like terrorists using unconventional weapons and lurking in dark corners to ambush their prey. There's a parallel in their culture of death that is too close to the death squads that has been playing havoc on the world in a sick Jihad.

In the battle of mass destruction that started the war, terrorists killed as many as 2000 people in New York City alone by crashing American passenger airliners into the World Trade Center. The numbers have an insane effect about them. And when you take the total of deaths of citizens and soldiers in the country of Iraq and the murder rate in the United States in the same time period, you get an eerily similar number. So why focus on the body count? Because it distracts us from the true mission- There's a war going on and somewhere between the lines of "how well" or "how awful" it is going, the truth is somewhere in between the extremes. However new data, evidence and translations are coming to light about the enemy and the close knit ties to Iraq. Cool heads prevail. Hot heads and intelligence are oxymorons.
The last that I heard is that there have not been too many recruiters who have sold The Middle East as a popular tourist destination. Most recruiters, to be sure, tell of the significant safety hazards it takes to become a soldier. If I am wrong about this I would be shocked to hear that a recruiter would not divulge that information and also that a recruit wouldn't sign up thinking that someone in the course of the next few years might not take a few gun shots at him-or her. Please forgive me if that sounds sarcastic, because truly I am not trying to be.

Takeaways
  • The body count is similar to the murder count in New York City
  • Support the Troops and The Mission
  • Iraq and translated documents-BINGO!
Did You Know?
Many documents found in the ruins of the Iraqi Regime are just being translated now. Smoking guns and smoking documents justify the war.

Mr. Musual as usual you base nothing concrete on distorted thinking. You don't even believe in hell- so stop the posturing. Start looking at the big picture and not the small minded kid games of a narrow worldview. This is a war of terrorist ideas and biblical proportions- and we have an administration that is hell bent on having a backbone. still praying for you man!

You can put together all the strings of faulty intelligence and misrepresentations you like, the fact remains that there was no real basis for the war in Iraq except a President and Administration hell-bent to go there, and now hell-bent to stay.

There is nothing from me. You are a true "hammerer of nails" as I could imagine GWB saying. God Bless, stay in the good fight and know it will be long, arduous and while truth will never lose a battle, there are many who want to see iot lose the war. From Michigan-The Big Popsicle- -Glad to have people like you on my side!!!!!

Thank you all. I don't go to Hillsdale but I subscribe to their resources. My daughter is thinking of going there. And Michelle I appreciate your words- someone has to say it!!!

Excellent article! I agree 100% and am very glad to see more people speaking out in support of our country, our President and our troops.

I see that you go to Hillsdale. I'm glad to see that there are other Michiganders that don't believe everything we are being force-fed. You make some excellent points. IF things really do turn for the worst after Bush is out of office, I don't know the Democrats will be able to live with themselves. Paula - I agree with you 100% too!

Yes, no matter happens whenever our soldiers come home, I pray we all treat them with a lot more respect than the soldiers who returned home from Viet Nam received.
