You need fish of any kind that you like to eat and potatoes. This recipe can make as many or as few fish and chips as you want to make. It is best to have a nice sized potato for each person you are cooking for and a nice size piece of fish per person.
To Make the low fat fish and chips first wash your potatoes and then cut them into fry shapes or chip shapes. Put your cut up potatoes into a large bowl and then put a teaspoon of paprika per potato in the bowl. Shake in some salt and pepper to your own taste. After you have the potatoes, paprika, salt and pepper in the large bowl then take a wooden spoon and mix all the ingredients together. Stir all the ingredients until the potatoes are all covered about the same amount. Take a large cookie sheet and spread the potatoes on the cookie sheet in a single layer. Then bake the potatoes for an hour at 400 degrees.
While the potatoes are baking take the fish and them on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle salt and pepper to your taste on the fish. Cover the fish with a thin layer of corn starch and put a small amount of olive oil on the fish. The fish should be baked at 350 degrees for a half hour. The fish should be ready when it is slightly browned. It will not brown a lot since it doesn't have much fat in it.
When the potatoes and the fish are done you can eat the potatoes with ketchup like you would French fries. These are very tasty potatoes and the fish is excellent as well. To compliment this meal you can serve a nice salad. You can keep the salad low fat by putting lemon juice on the salad. Or a low fat dressing can be used on the salad.
Next time you want fish and chips without the extra, unneeded fat you can try to have it baked. It is a healthy meal that is very easy to prepare.
