Kodaikanal - Switzerland of India

Me and my Friends always heard about Kodaikanal and seen its beauty on web, so thought of visiting it this winter, But after traveling around 510 Kms(from Bangalore), when we entered the valleys, all our tireness vanished, like it was never there. Breathtaking U-turns, Spine Chilling
temperature and the Rising Sun made us forget everything as we were about to witness the beauty of the princess, yes the princess of hill stations - Kodaikanal.

As we have travelled the whole 510 kms in night, we could hardly sleep, but at the same time the beauty of the princess was irresisitable, so we checked in a hotel, refreshed ourselves and went out to explore the beauty of Kodai.

Tip 1: Hire a vehicle, right from the source preferably Sumo, Qualis or Scorpio(for big groups), so that you can see every part of Kodaikanal.

Tip 2: Avoid visiting kodaikanal in December, ideal time is September-October or February-March. If visiting Kodaikanal in december, ensure room heater is there in the hotel.

From waterfalls to lakes, from picturesque hills to foggy trees, kodaikanal do have everything. We completed the tour and came back to our hotel for the night stay. Spending a night in kodaikanal was also an experience in itself.

Next Morning we set out for Munnar.

Munnar - New Zealand of India

We reached Munnar around 4:00 pm. There are many routes from kodaikanal to Munnar, out of which the shortest road is the one within the valleys, which is around 80 kms, but unfortunately that road was closed, so we have to travel some extra 200 kms to reach Munnar.

As we entered Munnar my jaws remained wide open, I could hardly beleive that such a place exist in India. Greenery all around and the hills were exactly the same, I had seen on Television about New Zealand. I kept on thinking, what is the need of going to New Zealand when in India we have places like Munnar. Munnar is all about Tea Gardens and spellbounding landscapes. Slowly Slowly the last sun rays of the day were kissing the hills as we entered the small though beautiful city of Munnar.
