Ways to Earn Extra Money in Your Spare Time

Everyone could use a little extra cash, especially watching prices rise and salaries plateau or fall. Both individuals and families have to make tough decisions as to what they are willing to pay for at any given time. Sadly, they often decide between two necessities. Not everyone can
work two or more jobs if they have other personal and family obligations. Nevertheless, there are a few way to earn extra money in your spare time.

If individuals know how to make crafts of some kind, they can create a few things people would be interested in purchasing. Depending on their circumstances, they may not even have to go on an extensive marketing campaign. At one time, I made handmade candles and soaps as decorations for my home and on my desk at work. When people asked me where I got them, I'd let them know that I made them. A few people bought some of my crafts. It didn't make me a millionaire, but it helped with gas and grocery. Currently, I wear my handmade necklaces. Individuals can also find out when craft fairs occur in their area.

The not so crafty can earn extra money by freelancing some of their skills. Early in the year, everyone needs to do their taxes. If individuals are accountants or tax preparers and the company they work for don't have certain restrictions, they can offer services to people they know. As a certified master tutor, I've worked independently from time to time. Although I can't privately tutor students who are paying for services at my place of employment, some of them lead me to other people in their classes who need writing help or just need a paper edited. During the summer, I worked with a high school student, preparing him for the state-mandated test. Simple fliers can be posted at places in your area or a free ad can be posted on Craigslist. Only provide your e-mail address as a first contact because there are some strange people out there.
