Celebrity Baby Photos for 2008, the Year of the Celebrity Baby

What Do Nicole Richie, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, Jamie Lynn Spears, and Angelina Jolie All Have in Common?

2008 could well be called, "The Year of the Celebrity Baby," or, "The Year of the Million Dollar Celebrity Baby Photos," in fact, the most money ever paid to a celebrity for photos was paid for baby photos of two of the celebrity babies born in 2008.

The above new mothers sold the rights for the first photos of their newborn for millions of dollars. The winner in the "who can get the most for baby photos," contest goes to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who sold the photo rights of twins, Knox Léon Jolie-Pitt and sister, Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt for $14 million to People and Hello magazines.

But not every mother was willing to sell the photos of her baby. Nicole Kidman, and husband Keith Urban, had their first child together, daughter Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, on 7 July 2008. It was reported that Nicole Kidman was given several offers by big name magazines for the first photos of Sunday Rose, but declined the offers saying it was something she wouldn't do.

Nicole Richie and boyfriend Joel madden had a daughter, named Harlow Winter Kate Madden on January 11th. The photos of little Harlow were purchased by People magazine for $1 million.

Toni Collette and husband Dave Galafassi welcomed daughter Sage Florence Galafassi into the world on January 9th.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie weren't the only couple to have twins this year, either. Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony had fraternal twins, daughter Emme Marbiel Muniz and son Maximilian David Muniz, already known as "Max." The proud parents sold their twins photo rights to People magazine for a cool $6 million.

Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman also brought a Max into the world, little Max Liron Bratman was born on January 12th and People bought his photos for a reported $1.5 million.

Sam Albert Newton Welsh couldn't wait to get here and surprised mother Laura Newton (Australian TV personality) and father, swimmer Matt Welsh by arriving three weeks early on January 19th.

Kate Blanchett and her husband Andrew Upton became proud parents on April 13th when son Ignatius Martin was born.
