When a woman reaches menopause, the production of estrogen is reduced to the point of almost non-existence. As a result, hot flashes, irritability, depression and night sweats, to name a few may manifest themselves. Because of these unpleasant side affects, many women over the years have been put on a hormone replacement therapy program by their doctors. However today, with new studies, many women, as well as doctors are shying away from this replacement therapy. This has caused many women to seek alternatives such as natural hormones treatments.
The hormone testosterone is what controls, for the most part a woman's sex drive. There are women who have high levels of testosterone will have a high sex drive. In addition, a woman with a high level of testosterone has more muscle mass and may love to be active more than passive. They may also be known as aggressive. On the other hand if a woman is experiencing low levels of testosterone, she will have a low desire for sex.
