This is a St. Patrick's Day craft decoration that hangs. It goes together quickly, so you can make a bunch of then and decorate a whole room if you're having a St. Patrick's Day party.

Supplies:
========
Construction paper in holiday colors
Yarn
Scissors
Craft needle
Optional: Jingle bells
Optional: Glitter and glue

Step 1 ~
Use the scissors and construction paper to cut out a variety of paper shamrocks or other holiday symbols. You make a whole roomful of them exactly the same, or you can make them all different, whatever you like. Some other traditional ideas are rainbows and pots of gold, or some leprechaun's gold coins. Leprechaun hats, heads, or shoes are good too, but may require a bit more drawing ability.

Step 2 ~ If you're using glitter, apply a thin coat of glue where you want the glitter to go, and sprinkle glitter over the wet glue. (If you do the glitter part laying in a something such as a casserole pan, it's much easier to clean up!) Tap off the excess glitter, and allow your pieces plenty of time to dry.

Step 3 ~
Cut a length of yarn about 18 inches long. (Make it longer if you have really high ceilings.) Thread a craft needle onto one end of the yarn. On the opposite end, tie a loop so tat you can hang it up when you're finished.

Step 4 ~
One by one, string the paper cut-outs that you made onto the needle by poking the need through the top and bottom of each piece. If your needle makes a big enough hole that your pieces slip down, you can tie a little knot under each piece to hold it in place, otherwise friction will hold them in place. You can make a string of all the same design, or you can vary them. Experiment with different spacings along your string to see what looks best to you.

Step 5 ~
After you've strung as many pieces as you like on your piece of yarn, tie off the bottom with a knot. If you'd like your mobile to play music when it moves, you can tie a jingle bell at the bottom too.

Step 5 ~
Hang up your mobile where they can seen seen easily, but won't hit anyone in the face when they swing around. If you hang them near a window or an air vent, they'll move more because of the passing air.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Neat idea. I like that it hangs so there is more wall space for other craft displays.
