My Favorite Christmas 2008 Gift: KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixer
This year for Christmas all I wanted was a KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixer. I've been wanting to do some baking which included baking of cakes, cupcakes, and breads. I don't even have a hand mixer and those typically aren't great for cakes and breads so I wanted one of the KitchenAid
Tilt-Head Stand Mixers. These typically run about three hundred dollars for the mixer and a few mixing tools. You have to purchase the add ons separately.
My husband bought me the Mixer for one hundred dollars less than they are normally sold because it's a refurbished mixer. It works just as well and is like new and works for my needs.
My plans for the mixer involves baking goods for the group I run. I have often been unable to contribute to parties and events involving baked goods because I had no mixer to make the goods with. Now I can contribute and plan to start after the first of the year.
I've already made a great batch of brownies using the mixer. It's amazing what this mixer can do and how much better baked goods turn out when you use it. Typically my brownies are flat and not very good tasting, but this time they were fluffy and tasty and I think it had everything to do with the fact that the mixer works exactly the way the directions called for the brownies to be made. Imagine having to beat eggs and sugar for ten minutes on high by hand or with a hand mixer? That would wear anyone out. With the mixer you can literally set it to high and walk away until it's time to start the next step.
Clean up was easy too. Just had to clean the bowl and the mixing piece and that was it. There were no nooks and crannies to clean. It took no more than five minutes to clean it.
I think this KitchenAid mixer is going to prove to be one of the best Christmas gifts I've ever received and I'll be using it at least once a week and I'm so happy to do so!
