Yeah, she said it...The best thing about live television is that things happen. Uncensored things. Uncontrolled things. Things that, without a time-delay to catch and delete certain possibly objectionable material from being broadcast, get broadcast.

One of the standing jokes between Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper is the line she used last year prior to the New Year's show that her 'mission' for the show was to get him fired before the end of the broadcast. Since she failed, she has since told Cooper (and others) that getting him fired was still her mission.
And although that still might not happen, Griffin may not be invited back for a third year.
Rick Sanchez, on his show Wednesday afternoon (December 31), revealed a statement in an interview where Anderson Cooper said that he would have to get Sanchez to teach him how to use Twitter, a social networking application that Sanchez uses to great effect on his show. Rick Sanchez said that if Kathy Griffin did not get Cooper fired, he "was on!"
Kathy Griffin, two-time Emmy winner for her show "Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List," became famous for her acidic wit and viciously amusing digs at celebrities. On the CNN New Year's show, Griffin showed that she could hurl some of that acid at hecklers as well.
She had been suffering the taunts and barbs for most of the show when she let an unknown heckler have it just before a commercial. In fact, she probably thought CNN had already cut for commercial. The screen had gone to a shot of New Orleans' packed Bourbon Street, but Griffin still had a hot microphone. She screamed at someone: "Screw you!"
She had already told someone earlier (perhaps the same person?), "You suck, too!" She and Cooper had had a conversation minutes before about the heckling, where she laughingly complained of the drunks yelling that they sucked. Anderson Cooper corrected her, saying that the hecklers were talking about her...
