WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2007

Who Should Be Inducted This Year and Who Won't

The WWE Hall of Fame was created in 1993 when Andre the Giant was inducted months after his death. Since, 50 members have been inducted. Among them are two celebrities in Pete Rose and William "The Refrigerator" Perry and such wrestling legends as Hulk Hogan,
Bret Hart, Rowdy Piper, Billy Graham, Ernie Ladd, Jimmy Snuka and many more. Just to point out, there is no physical existance (ie. a building, museum, etc.) for the WWE Hall of Fame. Only a plaque and the label as being a Hall of Famer.

The criteria for being chosen is not official. In reality, it seems whomever is willing to show up or whom WWE Chairman Vince McMahon personally chooses. The Hall of Fame is not as prestigious as others due to that fact however it's the only pro wrestling hall of fame with the vehicle of a corporation and monster television time behind it.

Last year, the USA Network aired the final hour of the 2006 Hall of Fame Ceremony in which Eddie Guerrero and Bret Hart were inducted. The year prior, the inductions of Rowdy Piper and Hulk Hogan were aired on television. The full ceremony's aired on WWE.com on a streaming feed and were later released, unedited in their full length on WWE released DVD.

The 2007 Hall of Fame class is expected to be announced sometime in February and in March. Most recently on the radio show, "Bubba The Love Sponge," Hulk Hogan received a call from a WWE office secretary wanting his input on names being considered this year. The names included Howard Finkle, The Von Erichs, The Ultimate Warrior, Mike Tyson, Mr. T, Mr. Fuji, Honkytonk Man, Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes, Dick Ebersol, The Original Sheik, Ken Patera, Ric Flair, Jake Roberts, Nick Bockwinel, Muhammad Ali, Rocky Johnson, Brooklyn Brawler, Big Bossman, Wild Samoans, Bob Backlund, Bushwhackers and Rick Rude.

It looks like the final list will be made up of some combination of names from that list. Of course, this is an article to inform you of who should go in this year and who shouldn't.

Okay so I'm a closet WWE fan, I grew up watching it shhh. I wish there was some guidelines on who gets in. I think Ric Flair deserves it the most I mean this guy just won't leave. I swear he'll be there forever! And in my opinion Mike Tyson shouldn't even be considered.

Last week, Dusty Rhodes was the first guy announced. It's rumored the Wild Samoans, Curt Henning, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler will join him. What do you think of this class if it happens?
