He was discovered unconscious and rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Jett Travolta was said to have suffered from Kawasaki Disease. It is not known whether the Kawasaki Disease was to blame for sure. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death of Jett Travolta.

John Travolta and his family, including Jett Travolta, were vacationing for the holidays at a property the Travolta's own at Old Bahama Bay resort on Grand Bohama Island. Jett Travolta is the eldest child of John Travolta and Kelly Preston. They have a daughter, Ella, 8.

Kawasaki disease was first identified by Dr. Tomisaku Kawasaki in 1967 in Japan. There is no known cause of Kawasaki disease. It occurs most often in young boys of Korean or Japanese descent, but can occur in any race. Kawasaki disease is not preventable yet it is very treatable. It is fatal in less than 1% of patients.

If gone untreated Kawasaki disease can lead to vasculitis, an inflammation of blood vessels. Or arrhythmias, abnormal functioning of the heart valves.

Some symptoms of Kawasaki Disease:

Bloodshot eyes

swollen lymph nodes

swollen tongue

joint problems

redness/swelling of hands/feet

Peeling skin on fingers/toes

Red cracked lips

Very red tongue

Redness in mouth/back of throat

Kawasaki disease is usually treated with high doses of aspirin by the physician. Intravenous doses of gamma globulin are also given. Most patients get well with no problems. But, Kawasaki disease can cause heart problems in 1 of 50 patients. Jett Travolta's sudden death may or may not have been caused by Kawasaki disease. The autopsy will confirm if it did.

John Travolta named his son Jett because of his love of aviation. Jett Travolta loved the outdoors and all kinds of sports. Jett Travolta was not high on following his dad, John Travolta, or his mom, Kelly Preston's footsteps into show biz.

According to the American Heart Association 4,000 cases of Kawasaki disease are diagnosed each year in America.
