Was it fear, God, or a little from column A and a little from column B? In Pensacola, Fl., on Friday, January 26, 2007 a man walked into the AmSouth Bank branch on Summit Blvd. and pulled off a successful robbery. (Perhaps it was just a case of Karma considering how AmSouth Bank robs its customers every day with its ever-increasing series of outrageous "charges" such as $75.00 for filling out a piece of paper when you are overdrawn for fifteen minutes and cancel the billing charge that created the overdraw even before AmSouth realized it had occurred, but I digress.)

Despite the fact that one might consider the crime to be on a par with what AmSouth Bank does to its customers every day, the police quickly were hot on the robber's trail, who fled the scene on foot. The police called upon their entire force, including their ominous helicopter that was engaged to fly over and track him down. Next to kidnapping, however, bank robbery may be the most stupid major felony you can commit. The reasons that bank robbery and kidnapping are stupid crimes have to do so much more with your chances of getting away with it as the odds that you won't. In other words, there are so many variables involved in bank robbing: cameras, witnesses, getaways, marked bills, bank alarms that it just seems you'd be much better off going for quality rather than quantity; get a few small hauls at convenience or liquors stores rather than going for one big score. This is especially true in a small town; in a big city your chance of getting lost in the crowd is much higher.

Pensacola Bank Robber Turns Himself Over to Jesus Christ and the Police During Surrender
Takeaways
  • The man allegedly robbed an AmSouth Bank in Pensacola.
  • Maybe that was karma, since AmSouth Bank robs its customers every day with outrageous ban k charges.
  • Just be surrendering, the suspect allegedly prayed and surrendered to Jesus before surrendering to police.
Did You Know?
AmSouth Bank robbed me of $70.00 by way of a never-returned bank charge for a fifteen minute in which I accidentally overdrew my account. In less time that it would take for Amsouth to do the paper work I voided the charge and notified the bank.

I'M the guy along with my friend David Casto that prayed with douglas wooten the robber !!! but as we took our life in gods hands and asked him to accept god into his heart the police did all they could to not publish our names so we could not make them look bad! in fact the bank robber wasnt caught at the motel at all he was caught in my front yard at cleaning systems services where I met Douglas Wooten at my front door, wonder why the cops lied so much??? and why I guess is to lay claim to praise and a reward maybe?? well at least I can rest in knowing that God saved Mr Wooten in my yard and then he sat down and said his life of crime was over then my friend David Casto went and got the police!! after David got the police he was arrested at cleaning systems services 6335 mobile hwy ,,and did not walk out from no bushes ,or behind the motel, or even a tool shed ,as the police stated....thats what truly happened so help me god!!!ps: did I mention after we persuaded the robbe

Hah! I thought I was the only one that AMSOUTH screwed at every possible chance. When I finally closed my account, they didn't even have the nuts to ask why. The robber had probably intended on giving himself to the lord for quite awhile. Since living in Tennessee I've noticed they don't do things real quickly down here. I wish he would have gotten away.

I closed all US bank accounts when Bush made them mandated reporters. Then I left the country and moved to Sweden.
