By now most women have probably spent well over $100 in attempting to look for that perfect flat iron for their hair. The trend in having stick straight hair yielded so many companies advertising all kinds of flat irons selling for all different price ranges. From ion-infused, to claims of reaching 400-degree heat levels, companies made all sorts of attempts to get us to purchase their flat iron.

Today, however, we are paying the price with split ends and limp hair damaged from excessive heat. Not only do we flat iron, but many women also blow dry their hair on a daily basis only compounding the problem.

So, now is the time to say good-bye to that flat iron. Put it away in a drawer to be used on only special occasions or maybe to be taken out as a novelty item remembering the days when you just had to have that stick-straight style.

The reason you can kiss that iron good-bye is that stick-straight hair is no longer the trend. Instead, it seems as though anything goes nowadays and natural is more in than ever.

By natural this doesn't mean you have to let your hair dry on its own and get all frizzy, but it means you can decrease the number of products you use on your hair by at least one: the flat iron.

All you really need is a hair dryer anyways to tame you hair. For the most part, many experts agree that allowing your hair to dry on its own by at least 70 percent is for the best of your hair.

So, after showering, pat your hair with the towel and let it dry out a little before blasting it with the dryer. This will reduce the amount of time you spend drying your hair.

When you do break out the hair dryer, a good product to use is KMS flat out hot pressed spray. You can spray it onto your hair while it is still damp. The product speeds up the amount of time it takes for your hair to dry and also controls the frizzies. Plus, it does not leave any sort of sticky or crispy feeling in your hair once it is dry.

If you are not into sprays, you can also try Samy smooth reaction smoothing creame, which also aids in taming frizzy hair and leaves your hair smooth and soft.

Takeaways
  • Flat irons dry out your hair and leave it limp
  • Using only a hair dryer in your daily routine with leave your hair with more volume
  • A hair dryer used in conjunction with a styling product is all you need to achieve smooth hair
Did You Know?
Eliminate the flat iron now so that your hair can repair in time for summer when it will be exposed to chlorine and the harsh sun

I have been looking to buy the products I always use, Thermasilk hair spray (flexible hold) & the Curl Sculpting Gel, I love these products & have use them for years, now I can't find them anywhere. If someone knows where I can purchase these, I will buy a huge supply.

I am a true fan of thermasilk shampoo, espeically the conditioner. I have been true to thermasilk for over 35 years. There's nothing on the market that can compare these products. I've tried others because I couldn't find my thermasilk. I'm going to continue looking for my thermasilk. Thank you. Sylvia Johnson
