FBI Looking to Fill 2,100 Job Vacancies and Hire 850 Special Agents
If you're one of those people whose job has been affected by the economy or are just wanting a change of scene, the FBI may be able to help you out. Reuters reported that the FBI announced Monday that
it is launching "one of the largest hiring blitzes in its 100-year history." The agency, which already has more than 12,800 agents and 18,400 other employees, is looking to fill 2,100 professional staff vacancies and 850 special agents.
An agency focused on upholding the law and specializing in domestic intelligence, the FBI states that its duty is to protect the United States against foreign factions and terrorist organizations, as well as enforce the laws of the United States. The FBI is based in Washington, DC, with 56 field offices across the country.
According to Reuters, FBI Assistant Director John Raucci of Human Resources said that the agency is looking to hire more people with special skills in areas such as language fluency and computer science.
"We're also looking for professionals in a wide variety of fields who have a deep desire to help protect our nation from terrorists, spies, and others who wish us harm."
