FBI Jobs: Proverbial 'Help Wanted' Sign a Welcome Relief in Bleak Economy
In an economy on a precipice in which major corporations are laying off employees by the tens of thousands, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has some good news to share: the FBI is hiring. Not only is the
FBI hiring, a wide variety of FBI jobs in a vast array of locations are available. Available FBI jobs include 2,100 professional level positions nationwide and 850 slots for special agents. The FBI has created an FBI jobs website (fbijobs.gov), to recruit new employees for its Washington DC headquarters and its 56 field offices located throughout the United States of America.
According to CNN, the FBI has characterized this FBI hiring effort as "one of the largest hiring blitzes in our 100-year history."
The FBI jobs site is so popular this afternoon that the capacity of the site servers was overloaded and those seeking applications at 1:30 this afternoon were advised to check back after 3 p.m. The site says that the FBI is seeking to expand the capacity of its servers (good task for one of those IT professionals it's looking to hire.) Because of the server overload, the FBI announced that it will extend application deadlines for the positions listed at the FBI jobs website.
