On July 11, 2005 I published a story on this website called Gas Price Conspiracy Revealed! The subject of that story, the spike in gas prices, was part of an overall plot by the Stalin admin - I mean the Bush administration - to get enough support to back their dream of opening up the Alaska Wildlife Refuge for drilling so that Bush and Cheney and all their rich Texas oil friends could make more money. (It's been a lean year, profits for the industry only rose $10 million during the month between Katrina and Wilma).

Some of the comments made on my story questioned the validity of this theory and the story's rating is currently at a 2.6 out of 5.

My reply is this:

With a 51-48 vote, the Senate approved requiring the Interior Department to begin selling oil leases for the coastal plain of the Alaska refuge within two years.

"Increasing our domestic energy supply will help lower gasoline prices and utility bills," Pres. Bush said in a statement. "We can and should produce more crude oil here at home in environmentally responsible ways. The most promising site for oil in America is a 2,000-acre site in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and thanks to technology, we can reach this energy with little impact on the land or wildlife."

What does it take for you Bush supporters to see this man has no character or compassion for anything but his own interests!

what about the 2001 and 2002 energy meetings that were top secreat and still are! $4.00 gas is now here and where are the dumb ass republican responses on this thread?A Oil black hole where no man can trace the price?THE SUADI prince on being asked why they have not increased production says --who would we sell it to?I don't see any lines at the pump do you?So its not supply and demand , now is it! well here we go,,,oil runout?? yeah in 25 to 30 years,if the politics keep this bullshit up,,record oil profits are not something large muti billion dollar businesses due when the end is "so near".oil companys are playing you for access to more,,go to war for whats known to be there in the ground..go where you know it is..exploration costs big money...break free from the brain wash from media and the internet,,if you think the planet is so small and we are so massive to drink up the blood of the earth in 40 years??? wake up..you realize that only a small portion of the earth has been colonized and explored by MODERN man,,get real..,some of the largest reserves in the world are still there,,we as piss ants are SO full of ourselves and stupid to find it and if we do profits would not be big if the clock turned back to zero,,that would be more of a real end 25 cent gas would make the earth suck.. i say give me the electric tech engines full electric with 350 miles per charge,,that takes 4

Your original arguement would have been much more convincing if you would have someone proof-read your work for gramatical errors. Among a plethora of others, you remarked about oil in "them their" rocks of the Grand Canyon. This should have been them there. "Them their" seems to imply that the rocks are the rightful owners of the oil, rather than inanimate objects. I'm not trying to be mean here. I'm just saying that you would garner much more respect for your arguements if they were made without so many errors.

at last.. I made the same predictions right before the election and right after. it is clear they will screw everybody they can. the one tweak I would note, is that they will also raise the price of gas higher in california and new york, because those states will NEVER vote for them anyway, and because they are huge markets. this is all about raping consumers for every penny they can get. It started in California the month Bush took over, with electric rates, and now the gas companies are taking their turn. By the way, even if ANWAR was tapped, they would be making excuses and still raising the prices..they do because they can, and because the president and the congress will never do anything about it.

I have to admit it sucks paying $2.50-$3.00 for a gallon of gas. Is Bush really trying to fulfill his own interests I don't know. But I have to agree that the oil companies have bought people off who have come up with alternate fuel soreces. So with that knowledge I know the the oil companies want to keep the American people scared. They want them to be blinded into buying the fuel even if the gas prices go up past $5 or $7. I agree with you... When soreces for oil are low car companies will quickly make a car that runs on oil. I don't know how to fix it but I know it will happen.
