Bombs Continue to Blast Gaza and Residents Suffer
The death toll in Gaza is now 550. As bombs continue to drop on Gaza the world wonders just difficult living conditions are there now. The New York Times reports a shortage of fuel, food, drinking water, and electricity in Gaza. The Israel
government insists Gazans are receiving aide while the United Nations demands the bombing to stop due to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Huffington Post reports that Maxwell Gaylard, United Nation's Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator has released the following statement about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza:
"Hospitals continue to be overstretched because of the large number of causalities that have accumulated since the beginning of the Israeli attacks, and ambulances and medical personnel face difficulties in accessing casualties. Electricity and telecommunications are down over much of the Gaza strip. Food distributions have been suspended and all crossing points remain closed."
There have been vast media reports that patients are all over the floors of Gaza hospitals. The hospitals do not have enough beds, supplies, medications, or blood to help victims of the bombings.
Too many children have been murdered or injured in the attacks. All of Gaza must be in utter shock and dismay at all the images of young children dead in the rubble and being dropped into the ground for burial.
According to the NY Times, Hamas continues to shoot rockets into Israel; the leader of Hamas, Mahmoud Zahar, stated: "The Israeli enemy in its aggression has written its next chapter in which the world willl have no place for them." Hamas is a terrorist group that has brought the wrath of Israel to Gaza. Hamas is using violence to try to solve problems and that never works. Israel is using violence too and again it just is not an effective tool for negotiations.
Both Israel and Gaza continue to claim victory in the battle; however, it is clear that there will never be a winner in this violence. Violence never creates a winner; violence just breeds ever increasing violence.
