The Second Five Most Common Poisonous Plants

Five More to Avoid

There are ten plants that grace the ten top most common poisonous plants lists, five have been given in a previous article, and these five are the ones that round out the list. These are by no means any safer than the other five, and none on either list should be discounted. They are in
 no particular order.

Azalea - The Azalea bushes are beautiful southern staples, they are bright and vibrant and completely toxic. While there is always one lurking around the corner, care needs to be taken. They are severe enough to entice drooling, vomiting, depression and diarrhea, weakened CNS (central nervous system), and can even do heart failure and death.

Tulips - while the plant is going to be ok and the most beautiful part of it, if the pet digs around this plant and get to the bulb that's where the trouble begins. The bulb portion can cause CNS weakening, digestive issues, drooling, heart problems and convulsions.

Oleander - This isn't quite as common of a plant, but its still one of the most common plant poisoners. There are no parts to this plant that aren't poisonous and it can cause hypothermia, heart issues, digestive troubles, and can lead to death.

Castor Bean - These have the most poison in the seed itself. The coating has ricin in the highest proportion to the rest of the plant. It is said that one seed can kill a man and four could take down a horse. The symptoms of a castor bean poisoning are drooling, vomiting, thirst, diarrhea, stomach pain, coma, muscle twitching, seizures and tremors, and death.

Cyclamen - The beauty of this is all lost when you get into the poisoning symptoms of this plant. This one can cause death too if ingested enough. The root has the most poison, but all of it has some. There are digestive issues and severe vomiting that will come, and perhaps even coma or death.
