The Benefits of Being a Teacher's Kid

The majority of the population will never know what it's like to be a teacher's kid. The teacher's kid can either have a hellish existence in school. Or the teacher's kid can be School Royalty, depending upon who the said "teacher"
is. Even though the dynamic of every parent/child relationship is different, in general, many people agree that having a teacher as a parent is a blessing rather than a curse. Here are some of the reasons why...

You gain a deeper appreciation for education.

If you've had a teacher for a parent, chances are you had fewer problems in school than other children. Parents who teach for a living, especially in middle and high school, are very often better equipped to help their children with their studies, which in turn makes the kids better students. In some cases, kids develop good study habits naturally because their parent is in the educational system. While kids are in school, they may hate the fact that their parents don't have "normal" jobs like their peers. But very often after they have reached adulthood, they are frequently reminded of the advantages that their parentage had on their personal growth.

Back-to-School Shopping is always a breeze.

For some reason, kids who have teachers as parents don't go through the same stresses where it regards acquiring school supplies for the year. Depending upon what age your parent's students are, he/she is probably kept abreast of what kinds of supplies and equipment are necessary to get through the school year. Very often, teachers have all sorts of supplies on hand at home, simply because they need them themselves. Pens, paper, notebooks, and other trappings of education are usually par for the course in a teacher's household.
