Uggs and the People Who Wear Them

The weather isn't a factor when it comes to fashion i have noticed. And these Uggs or what i like to call :"moon boots" seem to show up regardless of temperature. I have seen them in the spring fashioned with skirts, or in the winter tucked into sweat pants. They are an eye sore and i feel are only worn due to the fad fashion.

They have seemingly popped up everywhere, i don't just associate them with the fashionable girls i see, walking around malls. They are worn by preteens, and even a few mom's who nobody has the heart to say really shouldn't be wearing them. Unless i am mistaken, and they happen to be the most comfortable pieces of foot apparel on the market. Or have women all fallen under a consumer cult mentality.

In my opinion, and i want to stress that its my opinion, and not that they honestly look ridiculous. I wouldn't mind it if when worn, say with pants where the pants are pulled over the Uggs boots that would be fine. But this isn't the case. Girls go out of their way to tuck them into their pants as to show off the boots. They have no design to them its simply a large boot that is reminiscent of rubber rain boots, whom nobody would be caught dead wearing.

Are we so susceptible to Hollywood, magazines and media that people will wear anything? Where does it stop? I would like to have women comment to me and tell me straight forward that they bought it because they enjoy the comfort and warmth that they receive, and that its a great looking boot/shoe/hybrid piece of fashion.

In my opinion in the near distant future, all those who own them will be ashamed that they ever wore them. The same way we all feel generation to generation with fashion fads. We all share the same "oh jeez" reaction one might have when seeing or talking about "bell bottoms." The subject is always a great conversation with parents or people from different decades to discuss their fashion mistakes.
