My girls and I love doing arts and crafts together. Every Easter we make fortune Easter eggs and little baskets for the eggs to go in. We give them as gifts to family, friends, and my daughters classmates on Easter. Here are the instructions so you can make them with your children this Easter:Supplies you will need:
*Scissors
*Stapler
*Construction paper or Card Stock
*Plastic Easter Eggs
*Hershey Kisses (or any small, wrapped piece of candy)
*Pen, Pencil, Markers, or Crayons
*Regular Typing Paper (any color)
*Easter Grass
*Stickers
Optional Supplies:
*Bible
*Inspirational or Famous Quotes Book
Step 1: Cut a large square from construction paper or card stock. Fold each edge over about 1 inch to make a crease. Take you scissors and cut down each corner where the crease is. That creates a tab.
Step 2: Fold the tab inside and staple in place with your stapler. Do this on all four corners to create the bottom of the basket. Trim the top edges all the way around to make even if any construction paper looks taller then the rest.
Step 3: Cut out a strip of construction paper or card stock 1 to 2 inches wide to make the basket handle. Staple each end of the strip to one end of the basket creating the handle.
Step 4: Cut a small rectangle from regular typing paper. This is what you will write your fortune on. My family uses Bible verses. There are also many inspirational quotes and famous quote books you can choose from. Once you find a quote or Bible verse you like write it on the rectangle piece of typing paper.
Step 5: Get your plastic egg. Open it and place your fortune quote inside of it. Next, add a Hershey kiss or other small piece of candy. Finally, add a sticker and close the egg.
Step 6: Place some Easter grass inside your basket. Put the egg on top. Write the name of the recipient on the handle of the basket with a pen, pencil, marker, or crayon.
That's it. You're all done. You may duplicate these instructions to make enough baskets and eggs for your whole family. You may want to use different colors of construction paper or cardstock for each basket.
