The Philosophy skincare line of products is underrated despite the fact that most of the products are highly effective in caring for your skin and sell at a fair price.

Found in Sephora stores and online, Philsophy is the maker of various skincare products, body washes and hair products. In addition to all of this, the company often sells great gift sets that end up saving the consumer money (as opposed to if someone were to buy the products separately).

The line cannot be found in traditional drugstores, which may be part of the reason the line has not become a household name when it comes to identifying beauty products, but the number of those who swear by the line is quickly growing.

Many may associate Sephora with carrying only designer beauty products, that are over priced and not worth the high price tag or inconvenience of being bombarded by Sephora sales associates. The difference between Philosophy products and some of the products carried at Sephora is that they actually work and most of the items are fairly priced for the results people get.

The company makes a great facial cleanser called Purity. Sample sizes can be found at some Sephora stores and the sample actually lasts quite awhile. The cleanser is great at cleaning skin and washing away makeup without leaving a film that some face washes leave on your skin. Plus it leaves your skin with an even tone and keeps the oil away during the day.

If you can't bear spending more than $4 or $5 for a face wash every month, take comfort in the fact that the face wash lasts a long time and you do not have to use it everyday.

Another great skincare product from Philosophy is the company's The Great Mystery coined as the "one-minute daily facial."

Unlike typical products that claim to be similar to getting a facial, The Great Mystery does not include those scrubbing beads in its formula. Instead, the product is a gel that you apply to your face and leave on for a minute. With the absence of those exfoliating beads, your skin is less likely to be irritated.

Takeaways
  • Try Purity if you want a light skin cleanser to be a part of your daily routine
  • Philosophy's facial firming serum is great at evening skin and brightening your complexion
  • Not all designer beauty products are overpriced or full of hype - many actually work

Thanks for a great article! I love Philosophy fragrances, like Amazing Grace and Pure Grace, too!
