This Vintage Blue Willow Ware Platter clock would look great in a retro kitchen, traditional kitchen, sun room, or even a dining room. This Vintage Blue Willow Platter clock is a fun accent piece that should fit into quite a few different rooms in any home.

This would also be fun in an office of a business that sells Vintage Blue Willow related products!

To Make a Clock Out of a Vintage Blue Willow Platter You Will Need:

One Vintage Blue Willow Platter

Ceramic drill bit

Painter's Tape or masking tape

Clock Kit

Wooden Numbers(optional)

Glue

Power Drill

Battery (Probably AA)

Now, I bought a Vintage Blue Willow Platter at my local flea market a few years ago. It did not come with any matching blue willow plates, tea cups, or other dishes, but I knew I could use it to make something pretty!

You can buy these Vintage Blue Willow Platters for about $50 at flea markets, so this is still an affordable project even if you have to start from scratch.

Drill a small hole in the middle of the Vintage Blue Willow Ware Platter. You will need to use a ceramic drill bit. I like to lay a piece of masking tape where I will be drilling. This helps to keep the Vintage Blue Willow Platter from chipping too much when you drill through it.

Drill slowly and do not apply too much pressure.

This will be for your clock kit, so you may want to take a look at that and see if there are any size conditions for this small hole. You don't have to center the clock face; you could offset it for some visual interest.

Now, you are ready to install your clock kit on the Vintage Blue Willow Platter. Follow the direction on the clock kit box. Each kit will be slightly different. I find clock kits at the hardware store, the home improvement store, and almost every single arts and craft store out there. I recommend a clock kit that runs on a battery so that you do not have to have a cord hanging out of the back of the Vintage Blue Willow Platter, but that is complexly up to you.

Now, some clock kits will come with numbers, but you can use these great wooden numbers sold at the arts and craft store for this if you want. You could also use small sterling silver spoons that you glue in place with epoxy glue. Get creative!
