If you want to see what modern day boy bands will look like year down the road when they reunite in their middle ages in front of middle-aged fans you need only see a few moments of the DVD "The Osmonds: Live in London 2006." At one time the airwaves were filled with the singing of this particular family, apparently. Thankfully most of that was over by the time I was able to actually listen to the radio with any concept of what was happening. By that time the Osmonds' brother and sister Donnie and Marie had their own television show and were buys flashing their teeth to everyone and anyone who wanted to look and wasn't blinded.

What's the deal with that Osmond clan? Were they conducting cloning experiments? Were the Mormons advocating cloning? Should they be investigated? They all look the same. They all had, and still have, perfect white teeth roughly the size of your average tombstone at Arlington National Cemetery. They all have huge grins and their eyes all crinkle exactly the same in the corners.

The problem with reviewing a music concert is the fact that music is so objective. One man's garbage is a middle-aged mother of two's nirvana. I reviewed a DVD the other day that was put out by members of the hardcore metal scene and I thought it was horrific garbage. I thought the skits were terrible and that the music was awful. However, if for some reason you are so damaged that that horrible music speaks to you then who am I to stand in your way? The same can be said for this particular concert.

Takeaways
  • If you loved the Osmonds you will love this DVD.
  • I am not much of a fan.
  • As far as the DVD itself, well, if you like this music I guess it was OK.
