You should be able to accomplish this entire Painted Vintage Tin kitchen Counter project in less than 5 hours and should spend about $100. You might be able to make it for less if you have some of the vintage tin materials around the house.
To do this Painted Vintage Tin kitchen Counter Project Will Need:
Painted Vintage Tin or Tin Cans
Picture Frame Molding
Tacks
Hammer
Polyurethane (oil base)
Paint brushed (paint roller)
Tin Snips
The first step is to completely clear off your kitchen counter.
Now, use ammonia based cleaner to completely and thoroughly clean the surface.
Now, let this dry and you can start recovering your existing kitchen counter.
Next, use your tin snips to cut your vintage tin pieces into different sizes.
Now, use your tacks to attach them to the kitchen Counter. You can randomly place the vintage tin pieces, over lap them, or even space them out.
All you do is lay out your piece of tin. Place a tac in the corner and hammer it down. Now repeat this in each of the four corners.
Keep repeating until you cover the entire kitchen Counter.
Now, you should definitely overlap as many pieces as possible. You do not want to be able to see the original kitchen counter top underneath the tin pieces.
