Scarlett Johansson: The Most Beautiful Overrated Actress Today
Face it, Scarlett Johansson is one of the most beautiful and desirable women in all of Hollywood-make that the world. She possesses attributes that can only be explained by having the winning ticket in the genetic lottery. Naturally stunning looks that need little make up at all to
accentuate her features along with a brilliant sense of style and you have one of the most beautiful members of the fairer sex ever to emerge from New York City. However, even with the wealth of beauty and a few notable roles to give her some credibility, young Ms. Johansson still resembles an uncomfortable piece of cardboard in virtually every other role she has undertaken, thus making her the most overrated beauty in all of Hollywood.
If you're attentive enough to notice that her eyes are located above her upper-torso you'll undoubtedly notice that Scarlett has one of the most beautiful smiles ever to grace the public spotlight, it's just too bad she doesn't exude that same emotion for cameras when she's on set. Take Lost in Translation into consideration. While the movie is simply amazing and deserves more credit than it will ever receive, Scarlett Johansson can't help but pale in comparison to the depth that Bill Murray puts into his performance. Bill once again reaffirmed the fact that comedians have more talent than they are ever credited for. While Johansson wasn't terrible, she could have easily been exponentially better and even stole some scenes, as she did fabulously in The Horse Whisperer.
Before the deep end is reached and this opinion goes well over it, it should be noted that Johansson has done well in a few roles, most notably The Horse Whisperer, Ghost World, and Lost in Translation. However, her résumé is distinctly rattled with appearances in The Perfect Score, The Black Dahlia, and Eight Legged Freaks. While some will forgive her for taking on roles in the first and the last films, the stinker that was The Black Dahlia can't be excused. Her beauty has even seemed to be the reason she is cast in certain roles to begin with, which is a path that should not be taken especially when building credibility.
