National Guard Backs Down, Told to Contact the Arizona Border Patrol

The National Guard is stationed on Arizona's border, which is considered one of the the highest border threats in terms of smuggling drugs ~ weapons ~ people and only GOD knows what else. Their presence is important, right? Their presence is essential, right? We all sleep better knowing that our US National Guard is keeping that border clear and safe. But will you sleep better knowing this?

Last week, a group of people, armed with automatic weapons, approached the Arizona border and the National Guard was ordered by OUR government to ~ get this ~ back down and contact the Arizona Border Patrol. That's right, I said BACK DOWN and contact the Arizona Border Patrol. By the time the border patrol got there, the band of armed people were gone. Unidentified. No one knows that they were doing there or what their future intentions are. Were they smugglers... terrorists... ? Were they checking out how easily they could cross the boarder into our country at a future date to do...um...whatever they want? Were they here to sell cupcakes? Who knows! We don't know because the "powers that be" ordered our National Guard to stand down.

If the National Guard is going to be given that order then they should not be placed there. If the only authority is given to the Arizona Border Patrol, then the border patrol needs to be there 24/7. If they are stationed somewhere else, then the National Guard ~ those who guard our nation ~ should be given the discretion to do whatever the highest ranking officer in that squad sees fit in order to protect that border and protect this country ~ the US!

As it were, they followed orders ~ which they should absolutely do ~ but the orders need to change. In this day and age of constant threat to our country it is now more important then ever to man our borders and try to keep the threats OUT. I urge you to write your government representatives and encourage them to give our guard the power that it needs to protect this country properly. That is what YOU and I can do. That's our power ~ let's use it!
