Spring Fashion Trends 2009: Jeans

2
The Spring Fashion Trend for Jeans in 2009 is going to be a bit more of the same really. But it will expand on several trends that have been easing their way into the mainstream for the past couple of seasons.

1-The Boyfriend Jeans

Made popular when Katie Holmes first showed up in a pair, this is an expanding trend that looks to be continuing on for the next few seasons at least. The jeans need to be straight legged and cuffed at the bottom. The bottom of the cuff should be just above the ankle. This is a good trend for the current economy because you can easily find the right jeans at second hand shops and your boyfriends closet. The jeans should fit at the waist, not be snug or baggy. There are versions of this jean made especially for women but where is the fun in that? Raid the boyfriends (or husbands, father or brothers) closet for jeans. It's cheaper.

2-The Ripped Jean

PLEASE do not pair this with the boyfriend jean unless they really are your boyfriends jeans! The ripped trend is still in force and getting stronger. For many of us that just means we get to wear our old comfortable jeans awhile longer. You can of course buy new ripped jeans. I prefer ripping them myself. Either way, it's trendy!

3-Skinny Jeans

I actually really like these. They fit snuggly but not overly tight and they tend to work better with boots (I'm a tucker). This trend will be lasting for at least another few seasons as well simply because they tend to look good. Comfort is essential so choose your skinny jeans with that in mind.

4-Wide Leg Boot Cut

These are also going to be trendy for the next several seasons. As a general rule when you find skinny jeans you also find wide leg boot cut. The reason is simply that some women prefer one or the other. For this season, look for straight leg jeans with a slight boot cut for wearing over boots.

5-Leather Jeans
