The Deadly Dangers of Body Tattoos

You probably know that a body tattoo is injected into the skin by using a machine with a sharp needle and ink. What you probably don't realize, is that a tattooing machine can pierce the skin as many as 3,000 times a minute. Each one of these holes can be as deep as
1/16 of an inch. These open wounds scab over, but they can still cause health problems... and maybe even death. Before you even consider injected in this fashion, you need to know the deadly dangers of body tattoos.

As far as tattoo parlors are concerned, it's the responsibility of the operator to make sure his/her equipment and shop are clean and sanitary. It's also their responsibility to use hygienic procedures. Tattoo parlors are governed by state and local laws to do so. But, these laws aren't always strictly enforced. So, no matter if you have your neighbor give you a tattoo in his basement, or you visit a legitimate tattoo parlor, your new body marking can be a deadly danger.

While some tattoo parlors do pay strict attention to sanitation, they are in the minority...

One of the most common health problems with body tattoos is allergic reactions to the ink. Body tattoos can also cause skin infections and chronic skin ailments. Examples of recurring skin ailments include psoriasis and dermatitis. Body tattoos can also cause tumors which may be benign, or even malignant.

If these deadly dangers don't make you think twice about getting a tattoo, then consider the fact that getting a body tattoo puts you at the risk of contracting tetanus, HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis B and C, and even Syphilis. Hepatitis C alone claims more than 10,000 lives every year!

I like tattoos, but they can cause some people problems. My friend got a tattoo and he started having seizures, he had the tattoo removed and he is now seizure free.

This article goes to far, this is too dramatic. Tattoos arent that bad, As long as you do your research and even ask the tattooist how clean the shop is. If you take care of your tattoo how you are directed to, you will have no problems. And just because you get a tattoo in a certain place does not declare you a certain type of person. This is stupid that people actually make that big of a deal about how other people express themselves, tattoos being one of them.

THIS ARTICLE IS DRAMATIC!!!!!! Getting a tattoo isnt that dangerous. If you go to a safe place and you take good care of it no problem. I got one yesterday and i can tell you that the guy was clean, profesional. I would be more scared of going to the dentist then getting a tattoo. If people don tlike tattoos well stop judging the people that has one. Its not your body. If somebody is turned off by a tattoo well dont sleep with me

its not abo gettin a tattoo, its abo where u get them. tattoos are amazing pieces of body art. done in the right place. i have four tattoos done by the same shop. this shop uses new needles for every customer, its the only way to go. and never be afriad to ask the tattooist abo their hygiene rules, if their professionals, they'll have no problem showin you how they keep everything clean

just cause a girl gets a tattoo on her lower back doesn't make her a slut, it's body art. Maybe they get a tattoo back there for their own pleasure and not yours. Get over it. Stop judging girls who get tattoos. Anybody who judges someone over a tattoo in a specific area of the body is retarded anyways, just shows that you're shallow and fuckin' ignorant.

There are risks for getting tattoos, yes. BUT the MRI thing and talking about metal bits in the ink. That's no longer existant. If you've gotten inked within the last 20 years you're in the clear. If it's been past 20 years, they'll still do an MRI and you could or could not have an adverse reaction as far as pain goes. I researched it :)

Did you know that you have a greater risk contracting all of that from a dentist office rather than a tattoo parlor? Center for Disease Control(CDC) has constantly noted that it has documented "no cases if HIV transmission through tattooing" anywhere in the country since it began tracking such data in 1985. By comparison, there have been at least 7 cases of HIV transmission associated with dentists and dental workers. Of the 13,387 annual cases of hepatitis detailed in the most recent CDC report, 12 are associated with tattoo studios. By comparison, 43 cases--or better than 300% more--are associated with dental offices. Some political pundits have noted that, given the statistics, community activists who are sincerely concerned about the potential spread of AIDS or hepatitis would do better to concentrate on local dentists rather than local prospective tattoo shop operators. A tattoo artist is more at risk of getting a bloodborne disease. It is harder to contract the HI
