By now everyone is aware of the detrimental effects of smoking on one's health. On top of the health problems, smoking could also seriously undermine your dating, specifically the kissing activities because of "cigarette breath." But really, your health is more important than your suffering dating life. 87% of lung cancer cases have been attributed to smoking. Respiratory diseases such as chronic bronchitis, cancer, pneumonia, and emphysema are also caused by smoking. The most drastic effect of smoking is dying from any smoking-related disease. Not only that. Smoking has also been linked to the development of heart disease and peripheral vascular disease in some individuals. Smoking certainly does not add to one's beauty. Aside from bad breath, it also prematurely ages you by increasing the wrinkles on your skin. It also causes macular degeneration and leads to blindness.

No matter what age is the smoker, it is never too late to quit because quitting prolongs life. It also improves the quality of life as less illness will besiege the person.

Before you quit do yourself a favor and pamper your body. Take a rest-plenty of it. Fighting off the addition to smoking will take a toll on you later. By getting more than enough rest, you will have more energy to fight off the urge to smoke again. Good nutrition is very important if you are seriously planning to quit smoking. The addiction is related to chemistry imbalances in the brain, which can be resolved only by eating well and eating right. Identify situations or things that usually induce you to smoke. If you want to have control and quit, avoid temptation. If you are trying hard to kick the habit, it would be foolish to hang out with people who smoke in your face. It would be similar to offering a bone to a dog.
