Why is it so Hard to Get Child Support ?
What is our world coming to?We have laws out there to force the absent parent to pay child support. The process is just very hard to do.Even if you make it through the process get awarded your child support doesn't mean you will get it.Plus most of the absent parents lie about how much they make so that they can pay the least amount possible. It doesn't matter to them if it only hurts the children in the end.Just as long as their x partner fails.
I don't know how it is in your state. These are the process that you can go through in the state of Florida to get awarded child support.First way is divorce. You must remember that it cost money to go through this. You can go to the local clerk of courts and apply for indigence. This alone only makes it a little cheaper.I myself am going through a divorce and went to my local office and applied. You must fill out paper work and sit and wait for the answer.
They ask you about your income. How many children you have. They want to know all your bills and how much they are.So i filled out the paper work and waited. It came back that i will have to pay $400.00 to go through my divorce.I explained that I was a single mother of four and could not afford that type of money.Since I wasn't getting child support on my two with my husband.
They offered me a payment plan of $20.00 a month till it was payed off.Yes this would be a great thing if I could even afford that.At the time my income was approx $1800.00 a month my bills total at Approx $1650.00 a month. This leaves very little for toilet paper, laundry soap etc..You get the point.I have basic bills electric, water, phone, rent thats it.No room for play money.
