When I was a child there was nothing more appealing to me than sitting on my couch for 8 hours at a time and watching cartoons. Several years later, nothing much has changed. Animated series are an amazingly huge part of American culture, and most of them do not receive the recognition that they deserve. I do not care how old you are, you have a favorite cartoon. They harbor childhood memories, and there are some that succeed in making people of every generation have a delightful laugh. This list was compiled to finally give recognition to some of the most compelling pieces of American theatre.

Number ten honors belong to the television show that revolutionized stop animation as we know it. South Park burst onto the scene in the late nineties with its foul mouthed humor, and completely moral less story lines. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have turned this meager, cheap-looking show into an international sensation. It has even spawned a former number one movie based upon itself. Now with being on Comedy Central, and also UPN, South Park shows no signs of stopping their animated chaos anytime soon.

They're not a force. Nor are they ever in water, and they're certainly not teenagers. So what exactly makes Aqua Teen Hunger Force so appealing? Their show is absolutely random. Every single aspect of the show is hilarious. Whether it be the dialogue, the story, or the characters themselves, you will find yourselves in a state of pure hysteria all the way from start to end of their fifteen minutes programs. Aqua Teen is turning into an overnight success with the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim segments, and even have a movie in the works that is due out sometime in March.

On several different occasions over the course of my life I have found myself wondering how many hours of my life I have given to the Transformers animated series. Before the transformers, animated series were all based upon some sort of talking animals, and produced morals that were fit for second graders. Transformers brought a totally new aspect into the concept of animated series. Lets face it, awesome cars and exploding robots go together like peanut butter and jelly.
