Each of the unique Wichita Arts Groups has their own style of performances, followings, and performers who study to entertain the Wichita area throughout the year. They spend countless hours beyond their studies auditioning, practicing, and even traveling.

Whether you travel to New York, Kansas or locally, taking time to support your local arts can be as rewarding for you as it is for the performers of any of the Arts groups. The local Arts goes beyond paintings and sculptures. The Arts includes musicals, plays, ballets, and symphonies as well.

Ballet Wichita

In 1974, formerly known as the Metropolitan Ballet of Wichita, the Ballet Wichita has stood by their mission to provide training and performing opportunities in dance for those in this field. The Ballet Wichita group performs every year for year The Nutcracker for young people along with four other productions annually.

Ballet Wichita offers intensive dance workshops with dancers who are accomplished in the field of ballet from groups across the country. They also have tours of classic and original ballet productions across the state of Kansas and presents other accomplished companies to the communities of Wichita, Kansas.

Music Theatre of Wichita

In 1972, the Music Theatre of Wichita was formed to bring a taste of the New York Theatre action to the talented performers of the Midwest. The Music Theatre of Wichita is a great training atmosphere and career resource for technicians and young actors breaking into the Theatre scene.

Located in the Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, the Music Theatre of Wichita includes educating the audiences of each of the Broadway musicals and playbills and pre show lectures allow the local community to learn more about each of the shows the Music Theatre of Wichita about their annual shows. The musicals include full, live orchestras, spectacular costumes and lights, and lavish seats on the main floor and balcony.
