Vicks Vapor Rub has been around for many years and has provided countless people relief for a short period of time. When I was a little girl, my mother insisted that we use Vick's Vapor Rub any time we were congested. The instant it was applied, I felt the relief. Vicks Vapor Rub has many uses, but I will just mention the few that I am aware of and have tried. It relieves nasal congestion and it can also provide temporary relief on aches and pains. I will not go on any trip without taking Vicks Vapor Rub. I have learned in the past that when I go on trips, someone always gets sick.

Being a parent to five children, I don't have time to take off and be sick. I can rub Vicks Vapor Rub on and within seconds, I am able to breathe. When my children are coughing in the middle of the night and it keeps them awake, I can apply Vicks Vapor Rub to their chest and it quiets their coughs or minimizes it so that they can sleep. My husband has a Tennis elbow and can find relief from the pain when he applies Vicks Vapor Rub to the area and then wraps it up. He can immediately feel it start to work. I use Vicks Vapor rub to rub under my nose when I have a sinus headache and it gives me instant relief. It is also great to rub on your nose to temporarily block bad odors.

What is in this "miracle rub" that has us loyal users writing about it? First of all the active ingredients consists of Camphor, Menthol and Eucalyptus oil. Camphor, when applied to the skin, will make it feel cool upon contact. Menthol acts as a local anesthetic and relieves minor aches or pains. Eucalyptus oil helps to provide nasal congestion relief. It contains antiseptic as well.

You can purchase Vicks Vapor Rub as a salve or as a cream. The cream works great for the kids. Now, Vicks Baby Rub is available for the use of infants three months and up. It does not contain Menthol or Camphor. It does, however, contain petrolatum, fragrance, aloe extract, eucalyptus oil, lavender oil and rosemary oil. I have used it on my babies when they were congested and it works as well as it does for adults.

Takeaways
  • Vicks Vapor Rub has been around for years
  • Vicks has many uses
  • They now have Baby rub to use on babies
Did You Know?
My family has used the Vicks Vapor Rub, Vicks Vapor Cream and the Baby Rub and I would recommend them all.

After applying "Vicks VapoRub" to my chest I rubbed the excess on my hands. The next morning my joints were less swollen and I could move my fingers. I now use Vicks on my knees and hands before I go to bed, the swelling has gone away and the pain has lessened to the point that I can walk and use my hands again.

As a young boy, my mother used Vicks on me when I had a cold. I used it all my life. Found out that it is now made in Mexico, where there is bad sanitary conditions and unsafe water. I will throw out what I have and never buy any more until it is made back here in the U.S. If we all did that than maybe they would bring it back to the U.S.
