Let the debate keep churning, but for all of the nay-sayers out there, even more evidence that humans are the cause of global warming is out there.

This past weekend, in a conference including several international scientists in Paris, France, it was announced that, "Global warming is here and humans are 'very likely' the blame" (CNN.com). A 21-page report was released linking humans to the climate change. Predictions were held that global average temperatures could rise by 7 degrees by the end of the century, and sea levels could rise up to 23 inches. This report was backed with "ninety percent certainty." Hard to argue with, eh?

About a month ago, I released an article titled "The Upsetting Reluctance to Learn the Effects of Global Warming." Luckily, that article was able to grace the front page of AC for a little while. Not for long, but for enough time to get some comments, readers, and other opinions. Several readers felt that I was too easily influenced by Al Gore and was nothing more than gullible. I tried to explain that believe it or not, there are more people out there than just democrats looking for a spot in congress who believe in global warming, and I hope this can help get that point across.

Because this is an editorial, I feel free to share my opinion, and that is that more people need to open up to the fact that this is more than a "doomsday scare." Global warming is very likely real. Now, sure, there will be people calling me "close-minded" because I refuse to see the "it's not real" side of the story, but sorry, when you have seen all of the evidence I have seen, it is hard to argue that global warming does not exist.

The full story of this most recent report is available on CNN.com. I have linked it in the "supporting link" section.
