Cleaning professionally, I've learned that Lemon Oil furniture polish has many household usages. You are probably familiar with using Lemon Oil for furniture. This article highlights the not so well known ways to use this oil around the home for quick and efficient cleanups. Lemon Oil is excellent for protecting your low luster furniture. The oil leaves a beautiful shine, and prevents fine wood finishes from drying out. Choose a brand of lemon oil that does not contain waxes, silicones, or harmful solvents. Several of the popular brands have a sunscreen to keep your furniture from fading.
Don't put oil directly on furniture. Pour a small amount of oil on a soft, non-abrasive cloth (old t-shirts are great) and apply to the surface. Avoid using lemon oil on high gloss veneers.
Around the house, lemon oil is invaluable. An oil treated cloth will quickly wipe away tarnish on silver and brass and great to remove greasy fingerprints off the microwave door.
On heavily soiled surfaces such as plastic-laminated surfaces, fiberglass shower stalls and glass shower doors spray a small amount of lemon oil before spraying with your all purpose cleaner. The lemon oil penetrates deeper and loosens the dirt. The combination of oil & all purpose cleaner will save time and elbow grease.
The cleaning products made specifically for stainless steel are all oil based. A lemon-oiled cloth will clean your stainless to a spot free shine and eliminate the need for another product.
Those stubborn scuffmarks on floors can be removed easily with lemon oil. Spray a little oil on the scuff and mop. For harder to remove scuffs rub with sponge then mop.
Lemon oil is great for removing glue residue. Use it to loosen price stickers on hard surfaces. Great for tags on hard cover books too.
Those old musty items that you have stored in the basement can be wiped with your oiled cloth. The oil will help to wipe off the mildew and leave a pleasant citrus fragrant.
Even vinyl and leather items can be cleaned with your lemon-oiled cloth. Keep in mind that the color may darken. Test an inconspicuous area.
