River Cruises and Ocean Cruises are a world apart. First of all, with a river cruise, you can go for as little as one night. But even on the longer cruises, they are nothing like ocean cruises. First of all, on an ocean cruise, you see nothing but water for days on end until you come to a port of call. With river cruises, you get to see scenery all day long and in some cases, make frequent stops each day at historic landmarks and you get to stay in hotels and eat at world class restaurants, as well as on ship board. These are a great way to see parts of America that you would otherwise probably miss. And for those who are just not comfortable being out on the ocean away from shore for a long time, this is the perfect opportunity to experience what a great ship is like. These sell out fast, months in advance in some cases, so get your reservations in as early as possible.
