There are four public beaches which are maintained by The Town of Hilton Head Alder Lane Beach off of South Beach Drive Coligny Beach off Coligny Circle on Pope Avenue
Driessen Beach located mid-island at the end of Bradley Beach Drive
Folly Field Beach located mid-island at the end of Folly Field Road
Many of the private, gated communities have their own private beach.

For the days when you want something to do more strenuous than lying in the beach, then get up and moving and grab your golf clubs or tennis racket. With more than 300 tennis courts and 16 golf courses, there is more than enough action.

And do not forget the shopping No resort community worth its salt does not have great shopping. You can choose from the local mall, or do the real tourist thing and roam the streets looking at the small, local stores, where you will find one of a kind gifts for the folks you left at home, and of course one or two things for yourself.

AS for the kids, there is a great water park, actually one the whole family will enjoy.
