The number of camp grounds has been growing by leaps and bounds, and so has the number of campers. Campgrounds are no longer just a place to pitch a tent and set up a grill. Most of today's campgrounds are more like resorts, with planed activities and entertainment. There are a great many in Connecticut, in all for corners of the state. You can choose the sea side, lake side or mountains. The camping season starts early in Connecticut. Most camp sites are up and running by the end of April and they do fill up fast. Since many of them allow short stays, some as little as one, it might be a good idea to give one a try before committing to a long stay. They all have different rules and regulations and they are strictly enforced. Be sure to read them all before you make a commitment. Connecticut has so many beautiful sites and camping give you the opportunity to enjoy them up close and personal.
