After the Xbox 360's huge success with the revolutionary first person shooter "Gears of War", it is hard to imagine that any other FPS could be a successful follow-up. "Lost Planet", however, also has the potential to be another revolutionary shooter for the Xbox 360. "Lost Planet" is yet another game that is based upon shooting aliens, but even though this specific genre of game has been played to death in the past, this is the first attempt at the genre on the next generation 360 consol. Capcom takes the reins this time around, and they did an amazing job.

The environment in "Lost Planet" is completely interactive, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. The game is set on a desolate, snow-filled world, and if you are among the elite gamers with a HDTV, then I guarantee you will be completely addicted to the games amazingly crisp graphics and extremely smooth game play.

With a huge arsenal of weapons to collect and use, and a huge library of both aliens, and humans to gun down, "Lost Planet" provides an extremely solid gaming experience. "Lost planet" also gives the gamer the ability to take over large mech-suits, with a plethora of huge weapons ranging from rocket launchers to chain guns. What more could a gamer possibly ask for?! With having played the game through, I really cannot bring myself to have an formal complaints about the game, but if I had to pick one aspect of the game that maybe was a little bit lacking, I would have to say the story line.

The story in "Lost planet" is extremely shallow, and completely over done. It seemed a though they reached into the bag of gaming archetypes, and pulled out "Lost planet". The story mainly revolves around a rebel group, a mad scientist, and a super soldier who comes down with the ever so familiar case of amnesia. Not exactly Nobel prize material, but for what it is, the story does deliver to it's utmost ability.
