There are a lot of different fashions and styles in the U.S. I personally don't pay too much attention to them. However I do notice the changes. I've seen baggy coats and puffy jackets turn into those Japanimation things now in style. You know the ones? Where it only covers about half the wearer's torso and has long sleeves. You may be wearing one! Which is okay, I just find them amusing. I'm not writing this article to talk about that though, I am writing this article because of the same American individuality mentality that we have. What does that mean anyway? The title of this article may be a little bit strange, but let me explain. You can see in the United States that we have the mindset of everyone needing to be different. We all strive to make ourselves stand out. Everyone tries to have the biggest muscles, the best car, the coolest style, and the prettiest hair. We do everything we can to try and become some kind of Greek god. Do you see where I'm going with this?
Just about everyone who is in the race to be the best looking, sounding, and smelling person in America falls into the same trap as the others. In the hopeless striving to be different, we all end up being the same! You could walk down the street or go to the mall and see that everyone tries to buy the same brand of jeans, and the other companies that make them all seem to use the same idea. Like everyone wearing jeans that look ten years old and full of holes for example. Yet the people that buy those jeans or shirts think that they stand out because they have them. The truth is that they look the same as all the other people trying to stand out.
