The festivities don’t have to end with the holidays. Keep Christmas, New Year, and Valentine’s cheer, but decompress from the stress of the season’s spending. Indulge your spirit by treating yourself to a weekend of epicurean delights at Savor Dallas. Thursday, February 16th through Sunday, February 18th, the Wyndham Anatole and the Arts District play host to seminars, tastings, cooking demonstrations, exhibits, and the perfect accompaniment – jazz. After last year’s stellar turnout, the affair returns, encoring popular events and adding a few new twists.

The weekend kicks off with Savor Dallas Wine Dinners. Visiting winemakers partner with more than two dozen local restaurants. Intimate dinners pair the perfect vintage with to-die-for dishes, making a great belated Valentine’s date. Before dinner, mingle at one of Thursday’s cultural events. The African American Museum in Fair Park will add jazz, wine, and scrumptious eats to its backdrop of beautiful exhibits. Latin Jazz and caliente cocktails mix at the “Sizzling South of the Border Celebration” in the Latino Cultural Center.

It’s hard to pick just one of Friday’s choices. You might try it all: wine seminars and cooking demos with the professionals during the day, and parties at night. The evening offers a wine stroll through the Crow Collection of Asian Art, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Myerson Symphony Center. Serious oenophiles may opt instead for a reserve tasting of the finest pours, drinking ultra premium wines and spirits from the finest crystal. The highlight of the weekend, though, promises to be Mo?t & Chandon’s Bubbles ‘N Jazz. The event salutes the winners of the 2006 Lone Star Awards. As you sip champagne, professionals in Wine, Cuisine, Spirits, and the Arts will be honored for outstanding achievements. Grammy winner David Sanborn and his band will play into the night.
