Kyle Minogue Confirms Split from French Actor Boyfriend

Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue, 38, and French actor Olivier Martinez, have split after a four-year long relationship. The former couple confirmed the split in a statement late Friday.

"They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable," the statement said, adding that the pair remain close friends.

"Olli was there all the time, helping with the practical stuff and being protective," Minogue said in the November interview. "I don't like to say too much in public about Olivier as he's a very private person, but I will say that he was incredible."

The split comes after both sides have been dogged by rumors of infidelity. In the statement, the couple said, "the media's false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both." In spite of the denies, the tabloid press has speculated that Martinez was seeing someone else.

He is rumored to have romanced Israeli model Sarai Givati allegedly proved to be the final straw and the couple split just weeks after Olivier and Sarai, 24, were seen at a Hollywood hotel together. Oliver and Sarai also are said to have enjoyed a Parisian break in November 2006.

In 2003 - just five months after he began dating Kylie - rumors surfaced over his close relationship with his 'Taking Lives' co-star Angelina Jolie.

The 41-year-old French actor who smoldered raw appeal in Unfaithful (2002) can be seen in the recently released Blood and Chocolate.

Kylie recently returned to the stage of performing after treatment for breast cancer diagnosed in 2005. In November, the singer told Elle magazine that her boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, had been an "incredible" support during her illness.

She was said have called Martinez her rock during the former couple's happier times.

However, with hours of the split announcement Olivier was seen in the arms of Penelope Cruz. The French actor reportedly hugged and kissed Penelope, 32, at Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont Hotel on Saturday (03.02.07) - the same hotel where he fell in love with Kylie.
