If you're like me, having grown up in the "Lost Generation", a lot of your time was spent watching cartoons, such as Thunder Cats, Masters of the Universe, and Toxic Avengers. They were all great, at the time. But now with the release of one such cartoon, G.I. Joe, onto DVD at this time of terror alerts, American occupations, and government corruption, it makes me wonder, "Is it all planned?"

I'm not talking about the alerts, occupations, or corruption, even though those too were planned. What I mean is this: That they (them, the powers that be) had the DVD released as a subliminal propaganda attempt to increase American patriotism and gain support for more war and occupation efforts. I know, it sounds like some kind of anarchist, radical, paranoid thinking... and it is! But just roll with me here and take a look at some of the connections between Joe and America today.

ITEM: Why is i that is every other cartoon, movie, or story the bad guys out number the good guys. But in JOE it's just the opposite. Usually there is a few good guys and tons of bad, but in JOE the "good" (JOE) out number the "bad" (COBRA) at least 2 to 1. This is sort of like in real life. America has an army so big and powerful that we can pretty much crush any other country into nothing, and we have! We spend millions of dollars on military research, war efforts, and the like, but have very few funds go towards homelessness, unemployment, education, and other such problems. I Find that weird.

ITEM: COBRA, as far as I know, have never dropped a bomb, killed any American citizens, or had any WMDs. As far as I can tell, they were just a group of people who believed in revolution and change. But in every episode, JOE is always harassing them. Why is that? It's because the government (IE JOE) doesn't like free thinkers, and they must be crushed! If you don't believe in everything JOE says and dose, than you're an 'evil doer'. Do I need to say more?

ITEM: How come all, or at least a large portion, of COBRA talk with foreign accents? JOE doesn't. Is that because there are no foreigners in the US Army? I see it as just another attempt to show who the "real" enemy is.

Takeaways
  • Connection between G.I. JOE and American government

dude, its a joke... almost satire.... but not quite. You're more upset about a cartoon than the point I was trying to make, and that makes me sad. But, on the other hand, playing Devil's advocate, you do make a point in your own right. Sorry for upsetting a JOE fan. I just wish it didn't go over your head.

This is stupid. G.I. Joe is being released on DVD because its the 20th anniversary of the 3 3/4ths scale line AND the demand for the DVD is ultra high. Check Ebay prices on the first run of dvds. Have you ever watched an episode of G.I. Joe? Items like: "COBRA, as far as I know, have never dropped a bomb, killed any American citizens, or had any WMDs." Cobra tries to take over the world, hold it for ransom, or causes destruction in NEARLY every single episde. They once tried to launch spores on the world that would turn everyone into monsters! Or this, "How come all, or at least a large portion, of COBRA talk with foreign accents?" Which ones? The Baroness does, but who else? Cobra Commander isn't even a human being if you go by the movie. And yes, Destro is supposed to be Scottish, but I don't hear an accent. It seriously doesn't seem like you did any actual research before you wrote this article. You have a point to make so you just cram in your ideas despite any real facts. Good job
