This fun gift card clock is a great way to use all those cards you get in the mail every holiday. I have boxes and boxes of cards left over from Valentine's Day, Christmas and even birthdays. They collect dust in a shoebox because I cannot bare to throw them away. So, get creative and turn you cherished gift cards into a clock!

To Make a Clock Out of a Poker Tabletop You Will Need:

Gift Cards

Frame (that fits your card)

Clock Kit

Wooden Numbers or Deck of Cards

Glue

Power Drill

Battery (Probably AA)

Now, I bought a simple frame for only a few dollars at the local dollar store. You can find super cheap frames for almost any sized card a the dollar store.

Drill a small hole in the middle of the frame. This will be for your clock kit, so you may want to take a look at that and see if there are any size recondition for this small hole. You don't have to center the clock face; you could offset it for some visual interest.

Go ahead and insert your gift card into the frame, just like a piece of art. Use your drill to frill through the card. You could also use a needle or metal skewer. Be sure to match it up with the hole you drill in the glass of the frame.

Now, you are ready to install your clock kit on the framed gift card. Follow the direction on the clock kit box. Each kit will be slightly different. I find clock kits at the hardware store, the home improvement store, and almost every single arts and craft store out there. I recommend a clock kit that runs on a battery so that you do not have to have a cord hanging out of the back of the framed gift card, but that is completely up to you.

Now, some clock kits will come with numbers, but you may find that they are too small for this framed gift card project. You can use these great wooden numbers sold at the arts and craft store for this if you want. I like to paint them out in yellow, or a contrasting color that will really show on the framed gift card top, glue them on and really make this look great!

You could also buy wooden cut out in the shape of what every holiday your gift card is.
