I'm not a fan of rap music (in fact I despise it) but or some strange reason I like Snoop Dogg. He seems like a cool guy and his rap music isn't all that bad. I also like anthology films, so a Snoop Dogg anthology film? I was hip to that, but truthfully I wasn't expecting much out of it. Just finishing watching the film, I can say I liked it and was entertained for 84 minutes.

The movie started off nicely with some slick anime sequences that looked great. Although I'm not a big fan of anime I still totally dug this opening. The anime showcases of the origin of Snoop Dogg's character. Speaking of Snoop Dogg, he basically plays himself, but you know what? He's great at it. Snoop introduces us to the stories, so let's dive in.

Story #1-Crossed Out: "Crossed Out" tells the story of a young girl being given the power to whenever she crosses out some thug's graffiti they die a horrible death. This story was lots of fun with some nice moments of gore. The acting is average from everyone; expect the always cool and great Danny Trejo. Billy Dee Williams appears.

Story #2-The Scumlord: "The Scumlord tells the story of a rich Texan and his ditzy wife treating some black war vets like slaves, and of course, payback is a bitch. This is in true Tales from the Crypt fashion right down to its humor and sick gore. Anson Mount is hilarious as the rich Texan, Brande Roderick is hot as the ditzy wife and Ernie Hudson is great as one of the war vets. Good stuff.

Story #3-Raposdy Askew: "Raposdy Askew" is my least favorite of the stories. I found the overall story to be nothing special and it lacks what the previous story has. But it's still decent enough with some more gore and the always funny Aries Spears appearing. Every anthology film has its weak story and in this case it's this one.

Each story has some more slick anime between them.

Stacy Title's directing is a mixed bag. On one hand it's at times stylish and on the other hand it's pretty standard stuff. Could have been better, but good enough.

I don't remember the score but the film is full of rap music. Like I said, not a fan but it fits in the film.

I really liked the anime in this movie. It was done well, and fit into the story lines smoothly.
