How to Pull Off a Secret Elopement

If you are thinking about secretly eloping with your fiancé, there are some things the two of you should be sure to consider. While I find it perfectly fine and very romantic to elope; the two of you should be sure to talk about it and make sure there isn't anyone that the other would love to be at the wedding. Make sure your fiancé is completely okay with the idea of not having any of their friends or family present. If there is someone that either of you wants there, you will have to consider if that person can pull off a secret vacation.

Next you will have to decide where you are going. A lot of people go to Las Vegas, Nevada. In fact, so many people go there that they have last minute chapels up and down the street. If you decide to go out of town for your secret elopement, make sure that you make reservations ahead of time. If you have the option of taking off work during the week days you will get a much better rate on car rental, flights, hotels and in most cases the wedding.

Once you made your reservations and have picked out a date, you'll need to come up with an excuse to go away. This can be as simple as saying the two of you need a few days away, or you could make up a fake business trip, a sick friend, or any other believable excuse.

If you really want this to be a secret elopement, you should try to not tell anyone. Even the best secret keeper in the world would have a hard time keeping a secret as big as this one.

Remember that even though this is a secret elopement, you will want it to be special. You will still want to have that wedding dress and suit or tux. You will still want to exchange rings and you really will want to have wedding photos. Many people brush off the importance of wedding photos simply because they are eloping and don't see the importance of the photos at the time. You will one day look back and wish that you had photos of the day you were married, so don't down play the importance of them.
