I read "Social Links" by Tim Warsinskey, a reporter from a Cleveland newspaper, "Plain Deal". In this article, Warsinskey compares two competitive and well-known social-networking sites known as Myspace.com and Facebook.com. He talks of the types of things one would see on these sites including: blogs, pictures, finding old friends, etc. So what's the difference?Myspace is believed to be dominated by teen-aged high schoolers, while college students take the lead on facebook. Warsinskey points out that not everyone on myspace is in high school, and not everyone on facebook is a college student. However, he does state that 80 percent of people online have a myspace account, and facebook.com comes in second place with a disappointing 7.6 percent.
Personally, I like myspace better than facebook, because of the simple fact that myspace unmistakably has more users; therefore, meeting more people before you get to college, also, I believe myspace is easier to use.
Myspace and facebook, are essentials to students everywhere. Communication is one of the many values that we rely on these sites to meet new friends, stay in touch with old ones, and even get help from a certain professor. They are valuable assets to our current culture and, there's no indication that they'll be going out of style anytime soon.

What they are: Facebook.com and MySpace.com are social-networking Internet sites. Users can write blogs, create and modify short self-profiles, create and join groups and define searches for people from specific schools or with like interests or classes. Teens, especially, like to communicate by posting notes and pictures on each other's pages. Profiles often include answers to survey questions that range from "Pepsi or Coke?" to "Done drugs in the last month?"
