As shown in the "Benefits of Aerobic Exercise" summary page, you know that aerobic exercise is very powerful. The power not only comes from just one work-out and how it makes you feel, but the cumulative effects regarding all the physiological benefits are quite staggering. It is the form of exercise that is most effective for lowering blood pressure, decreasing body fat, controlling blood sugar, increasing stamina, and many others. How does it do this? How is a fit person able to burn more energy and perform more work? How is a fit person able to eat more than an over-weight person, yet athletes are noted as being grouped among the leanest in the population? To answer this we need a very basic and brief overview of education regarding exercise physiology.
