Ron Sharon is a down-on-his-luck 27 year old former IT executive from Irvine, California. Sharon recently created a website announcing that he was establishing a goal of 30 days to acquire one million dollars. With few commodoties and a great deal of hutzpah, Sharon is soliciting the citizens of the world to assist him in his "amazing adventure".

He explains that a few months ago, after losing his job as an IT manager due to downsizing, he also lost his girlfriend. "And, as if that wasn't enough" Sharon recently discovered his ex-girlfriend had become an adult film actress. He goes on to say that after sitting around moping on his couch for a couple of days, Sharon woke up one morning with a crazy idea and the amazing challenge that he intends to meet.

On his website and in press releases, Sharon has matter-of-factly explains, "Recent events in my life have made it clear to me that I need an amazing to meet an amazing challenge to bring my life back on course. My goal is to make one million dollars in thirty days, by auctioning off the entire content of my apartment on eBay, selling my signature t-shirts and by donations."

If Sharon is successful in his attempt to collect the one million dolalrs, he promises to donate fifty thousand dollars to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Plans for the remaining income (or all of the monies collected short of one million dollars) include paying off his bills and starting a business.

The first day of Sharon's thirty day adventure starts on Thursday February 8th at 12:00am. Ron Sharon is placing the items from his apartment up for sale on eBay. He has already begun advertising his personally designed signature T-Shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, boxer shorts, camisoles, sphaghetti tanks and thongs at CafePress. For those who would simply prefer to make a donation, he is accepting payments through PayPal.

Early Wednesday morning, with 18 hours remaining before kicking off the 30 day challenge, Ron Sharon offered yet another opportunity for people to help.

I know nobody would buy all the crap in my house. LOL I have crazy homemade hats from my kids school competitions in a box. If he didn't meet his goal I wonder how much he did make.

Theresa S...you have no idea how odd he really is. I used to work with him. I know he didn't make his mil, he's not "that" talented. As for being a "Down on his luck IT Exec", he didn't know how to fix anything. Always called his friends for help with our Server problems. There is probably a reason why his website is gone...he couldn't figure out how to keep it going and his friends got tired of helping him try to figure it out!

Very odd person.

I wish I could provide an update but Ron Sharon seems to have fallen into an Abyss. My guess is that his quest was an abysmal failure. I have nothing but logic to support my supposition.

Didn't see the comments when I read but yeah just a tad lofty goal.

This is very interesting. I am sad to see the site is gone too. Will you please give us an update?

Seems like Ron might be in for a big disappointment at the end of the 30 days. At least no one can say he didn't try! :-)

anyone know what happened to him?

How very... strange.

hmmm... I can barely make $100 in a 30 day span. That is without a "real" job. I'll be impressed if he makes a few thousand. I'll be ending emails for advice if he makes the million mark.

Interesting article, but I agree with Carrissa, people tend to fall for things like that if they know the person or company will be donating a sum of money they get. But if you look at it, 50K is quite a lot if all you are thinking about is the 50K (which is why so many people fall for things like this) but 50K out of 1 million? That's only 5 percent of what he'll make. That's not a lot.

So here's the update we've all been waiting for! "Ten days has passed since this challenge began, and I have made just under $600 (www.ronsharon.com)

Man, if all it took was for me to lose my job and my boyfriend/husband and a very large goal to get people to feel bad for me so they would donate....I'd be one of the richest people on the planet. He's got nothing! pfffttt..what a loser. However, the article was VERY interesting, and I wanted to read more...perhaps a follow up article to what happened to his ebay account..LMAO.
